Summary : California is has had a love-hate relationship with immigrants. Migrants' major reason for moving to California is for labor force. The article also mentions about how the migrants were looked down upon on and how they were also considered as people that are causing problems in California.
Evaluation: This article ties to chapter 18 and chapter 19. This article is in relation to chapter 18 and chapter 19 because they both mention something about the migration in California and how the immigrants were considered trouble makers.

Reflection

 The memorable moment I had with my sister was when she answered my first question and said no. I asked her why and she said it because the person could of been a rapist. Something that suprised me though was when she answered my 2nd question and said yes. Due to her first answer i would of thought she would of said no, but instead she said yes and her reasoning was because a migrant and a child in charity both need the same needs : love and affection. One thing I could do to improve to improve my questions is make it more real-life situation related question.

Chapters 10-17: Family Discussion Reflection

Deputies: Infant died during road trip

Research
Summary: A 7-old month baby was found dead at the scene. The baby was traveling on a road trip with family to North Carolina during the incident. But the cause of the death is still undetermined right now.
Evaluation: This text connects specifically to chapter 13. In this chapter Grandpa is so sick the Wilson offer him their tent for him to stay. Then Grandpa ends up having a stroke and dies. In the beginning no one expected him to die, same as the baby. The baby in this article was also on a road trip with the family and an incident occurs that causes the death.

Reflection
The most memorable moment of my discussion with Mary (my little sister) is that after i told her about the incidents with the road trips her idea and thinking about going on a road trip actually changed. This also surprised me because she's actually the type of kid who likes going out to see and explore different things. But after me and her had a whole conversation about the road trips and deaths that are going on her mind set actually shifted a little more than i had expected it to. One thing i would improve is the type of questions, i think they were worded a little to complicated for Mary to understand. If i were to make it a little bit more simpler than the conversation might have been more successful.

Property owners in Lake Mead forced to leave their own homes until government shutdown ends

Research

Summary: People that are residents and owners of their own property on Lake Mead are forced to leave while the government was shut down. They weren't allowed to go back until the government reopened again because it was on federal land. Because of this shutdown, people have been protesting and lives have been taken, voluntarily and not voluntarily.
Evaluation: This article ties to the chapters 1-9 in The Grapes of Wrath because in these chapters everyone in the Oklahoma farmlands were forced to leave. Some of these farmers also tried to fight back for the owner rights but it failed.

Reflection

The most memorable moment of my discussion with my little sister, Mary is when i asked her the first question. I had expected her to say that she would fight back and try to leave here even longer. But instead all she ended up saying was that she would just pack. Which kinda surprised me. Something that was most surprising to me about my discussion with Mary was that once i asked her the 2nd question, she decided to say that she would actually fight back for something she loved... but not her own house. 1 way i could improve my questions is change up either # 1 or #2 because those 2 questions were somewhat too similar to Mary.
